The Cello in the 21 st Century

Gustav Klimt Quartet

Formed in 2004, the Gustav Klimt Quartet is now one of Sweden's most active string quartets. With an outspoken ambition to explore music written around the dissolvement of tonality, the quartet performs around 25 concerts per annum in primarily Sweden and Denmark. The Gustav Klimt Quartet consists of the following players: Slava Nam and Ian Peaston, violins, Ulf Johansson, viola and Mattias Rodrick, cello. The Gustav Klimt Quartet will during the Music Around festival in 2006 perform Shostakovich's Third String Quartet at more than 20 occasions in an exciting collaboration with mime artist Anna-Lena Efverman.
